On a map Italy looks like a high-heeled boot. The second largest mountain range, the Apennines run down Italy like the zipper of the "boot." The Swiss Alps border Italy in the North. Italy is home to one of the most famous bell towers "The leaning Tower of Pisa." The official name of Italy is Repulica Italiana (Italian Republic). The capital of Italy is Rome. The population is 57.9 million and the area of Italy is 301,278 square kilometers! Their currency is called Euro ($1 U.S.= $1.08). Their religion is Christianity. Their official language is Italian and they have a VERY diverse. Italy is well known for its art, culture, food. For example, pizza, pasta, ect. Italy is also well known for its wine, life style, design, elegance, and of course, taste!

A family in Italy lives with their grandparents, parents, and their kids. The dinners last for hours because they have lots of relatives it turns out to be a party! First born are named after the father. If the first born is a girl the make it work, like if the dad's name is Joseph then the girl's name would be Josephine.
