In Africa many people have a ritual that marks an event in a person’s life.
This is to help a person change from a teenager to an adult. The ritual takes
place when the person reaches puberty. Puberty is when a person goes from
childhood to adulthood. In certain cultures boys or girls are taken away from
their community for a period of time when they receive instruction. They also
will have some test of endurance or physical ordeal.
