COOL FACTS ABOUT GREEN IGUANAS
The size of a full grown iguana would be 122-182cm (4-6 feet long). But there are some that grow to 213cm (7 feet long). The iguana’s tail is about half the size of its body length so it makes it a bit bigger than usual.
The green iguana is found over the Mexico area, Southern Brazil and Paraguay as well as well as the Caribbean islands.
Green Iguanas have very good senses of hearing and smell. The green on the iguana’s body helps them camouflage. The Green iguanas are sturdy animals they can fall from long distances like 1219cm (40 feet) and they won’t hurt themselves at all!
Iguanas live in tropical rainforests around water areas. They live in 1219cm (40 feet) high tree canopies which give them cover.
Iguanas are awake during the day. They are cold blooded animals so if it’s a cold day then the iguanas are cold too. To keep warm they lie on rocks and lay about in the sun.
Iguanas eat plants and meat so they are call omnivores. Most of the time they just eat tropical plants and fruits. When baby iguanas are born they would eat eggs and insects.
