Scurvy is a disease caused by a lack of vitamin C. The early sailors used to get scurvy during military campaigns, and ocean voyages people got scurvy because they didnt have adequate amounts of vitamin C. Today scurvy is found in Egypt, Greece, and Rome. Some of the symptoms of scurvy are swollen and tender joints , loose teeth, bleeding gums, body weakness, and black skin. To prevent scurvy you need to eat good citrus fruits like oranges, lemons, and limes . |
