Platypus vs. Echidna

Platypus:  “I think that my house is just the best for living in.”

Echidna:  “And why is that?  Do you know how good my house is?”

Platypus:  “I think so.  It’s just a hole in the ground.”

Echidna:  “Yeah, well isn’t your house just a hole in the side of the river?”

Platypus:  “Yes it is, but at least I have as much water as I need, at any time I want.”

Echidna:  “But I can get as much food as I want because ants live under the ground.”

Platypus:  “Ha!  I can get food whenever I want because worms, snails and slugs live right alongside the river next to me.”

Echidna:  “Listen, we could keep going on about our homes or we could just stop here.”

Platypus:  “Let’s keep going!”

Echidna:  “No!  Let’s not.”

Platypus:  “Oh, please?”

Echidna:  “Why?”

Platypus:  “Because…  Ah…  OH FINE!”

Echidna:  “Okay.  Now let’s go and get something to eat.”
