Harshita
My name is Harshita and I’m 11 years old. I was born in New Delhi, India and moved to Australia in 2004. I was studying at Norwood Primary School, but now I go to a different school.
I am a Hindu. I speak Hindi and English fluently; I have also learnt Italian and Chinese, which I have found very interesting. I have travelled overseas, visiting the USA and UK with my family.
The Indian culture is very different here in Australia. People in India have very strong family bonds and the way the dress up is quite different.
Think Quest was introduced to me by my teacher, Tina. The opportunity to develop a website interested me, and I was lucky to be chosen as a team member. Even though I go to a different school, I have attended all the meetings, which have been held once a week, every week, and I have participated with my best efforts.
Being on the ThinkQuest team was really challenging, but I think that it has improved my media skills and my knowledge of our topic of Australian Animals. I have also learnt how to work in a small group with very different jobs to do. We all had our sections of work to research and we have presented some very interesting information for you to enjoy learning about.
I would like to thank my team members, my coaches, Tina and Carol, and to my mum and sister, for supporting me and bringing me to our meetings every week.
