Chinese Dragons

                 

        There are many dragons and gods in China that were good and evil. But the greatest dragon of all is the Celestial Dragon; it is to be believed to be as the greatest god to the Chinese. It is like a symbol to the Chinese civilization, many Chinese would call them selves "Lung Tik Chuan Ren".  Meaning “the descendent of the Celestial Dragon”. The great dragon was believed to help the great kings during China’s time. In times of trouble, the king would pray to the dragon for guidance. Farmers would pray to the dragons for rain, to help grow their crops.

       

           Other dragons include the pear dragon, the black dragon, long dragon, and the yellow dragon. These dragons were the first dragons to help bring rain to the villagers. The problem was that there was a drought because of the Jade dragon and many people were dying. The Jade dragon was an evil dragon that didn’t like to help people. So when he heard about what the dragons did. He locked them away in the mountains. But since the four wanted to help the villagers so badly, the four dragons became rivers and this is how the four major rivers of China were created.

       

        There were many more dragons, such as the water dragon, earth dragon, metal dragon, wood dragon, and the fire dragon. Each helped humans and did different things. The earth would make mountains by pounding on the earth.  The metal brought metal to the people. The water dragon made lakes, oceans, and so on and so forth. Unlike the European dragons that breathed fire and were greedy for money Chinese dragons were nice, kind, and helped people. The Chinese dragons symbolized power, boldness, divine, and many more characteristics.
