Yellow-headed Blackbird          

    The yellow headed blackbird is a very special bird to the marsh. They fly low over the marsh looking for food. Their length is about 8.5 inches and they have a sharply pointed bill. The adult male has a bright yellow head and breast. Also the body, wings, and tail are black, although there is a white patch on the wing. The adult female is not as bright as the male, and has a streaked breast. The female’s body is gray - brown. It often flies with groups of other blackbirds.
