White
tailed deer are very interesting animals. They are 3-3 1/2 feet tall
and weigh 100-200 pounds. The female is smaller than the male.
Adult deer have coats that are reddish brown in summer and grayish
brown in the winter. Fawns are reddish brown with white spots. Male deer grow antlers in the spring that they lose in mid-winter.
Deer are herbivores, meaning they eat plants. They graze through the woods, choosing the best leaves, twigs or grasses for food. They also like nuts like acorns or corn left in the fields.
