Mahi Mahi

     The mahi-mahi is usually called a dolphin fish or a dorado.  You can find this fish all over the world.  Its blue-green and yellowish-gold colored scaly skin will make it easy to spot.  This animal can grow to be about 50 pounds.  Also, it lives to be about 3 or 4 years old, which is a very short life span.  Something sad about this fish is people love to catch it and eat it.  Males are called bulls.  You can tell the difference because the male’s dorsal fin is almost exactly in line with his mouth and eyes.  Make sure to keep a distance from this fish if you are swimming because they are vicious fighters.  Warm water is what they like best.  Make sure to keep an eye out for this amazing and very beautiful fish while on a boat!
