The Team Members
Our next step was to make a site map and divide up the responsibilities. The following is a brief description of each team member's responsibilities:
Our outstanding coach. He provided continual valuable criticism and support. He made insightful suggestions for improvement and served more as a mentor than as a supervisor.
Richard
Primary web developer of the HTML high and low bandwidth sites. Rich's awesome expertise of HTML, javascript, and CSS greatly benefited the team. He also conducted research on the history of WMD, including World War II and the Manhattan Project, and chemical weapons.
Harrison
Web developer and researcher. Harrison was responsible for in depth research into the history of WMD and biological weapons. He also provided great insight into web design and collaborated closely with Richard.
Dali
Flash site developer. Besides using his considerable flash ability, Dali also conducted extensive research into the cold war, how WMD affects you, and several case studies. Dali was the resident CSS/Flash/XML expert on our team, answering questions that perplexed the rest of us.
Peter
Primary researcher. Peter researched the content of nuclear weapons, landmines, modern arms control, several case studies, and other topics throughout the site, drawing on his extensive science and international political background. He also was the lead interviewer and asked many questions about WMD.
Ray
Primary flash animator. Ray created the several flash animations throughout the site as well as the incredible introductory animation through hours of hard labor. His prowess at Macromedia Flash is unparalleled. Ray hopes to be a professional computer graphics artist someday.
Sam
Flash programmer. As an Actionscript wizard, Sam was responsible for coding the games and quizzes from scratch. He also assisted in the interviews conducted by the team.
As a team, we overcame challenges such as Dali's abrupt and unexpected relocation to another school. We supported one another through constructive criticism in emails and instant messages. We bonded together in an extraordinary fashion even though we have never met the rest of the team in person, and each one of us acquired a new understanding of the extraordinary power of weapons of mass destruction.
