Since the Vedic period we have the Guru Shishya Parampara (Teacher taught tradition). The coming together of the Guru and the Sishya has transformed the world . The discussions between the Guru and the Sishya during the Vedic period gave the world the sublime philosophy of the Upanishads  which  guides  us  to where everything should end
