January 1863 -- Emancipation Proclamation For Which Slaves That Were Rebelling Against The Union Were Considered Free.

March 1863 -- The First Conscription Act, Were Men Ages 20-45 Could Be Called For Military Service, But Could Be Avoided By Paying A Fee By Union, And A Similar On In The Confederates.

May 1863 -- The Battle Of Chancellorsville The Union Army Was Defeated, But It Was The Most Costly Victory In Terms Of Casualties For The Confederates.

May 10 1863 Stonewall Jackson Dies Of Pneumonia Following Amputation Of His Arm At Chancellorsville.

May 1863 -- The Vicksburg Campaign, The Union Took The Mississippi River And The Confederacy Was Split In Two.

June 13 1863 -- The Gettysburg Campaign

June 20 1863 -- West Virginia Admitted To The Union

July 1 1863 -- Battle Of Gettysburg Lincoln Also Made The Gettysburg Address.

July 10 1863 -- Fort Wagner South Carolina Black Troops Most Important Battle

July 16 1863 – James Island Terry’s Camp Was Defeated By The Union, And Afterwards The Union Withdrew From The Island On July 17.

August – December 1863 -- Bombardment Of Fort Sumter

September 6 1863 – Confederates Evacuated Fort Wagner And Battery Gregg Pressured By The Union.  Afterwards Union Occupied All Of Morris Island.

September 8 1863 -- Fort Griffin Texas, 44 Punished Confederate Gunner Soldiers Were Attacked By 200 Union Soldiers, And They Were Captured.

September 19 1863 – When The Union Forces Retreated To Chattanooga.

November 1863 -- The Union, Pushed The Confederates Away From Chattanooga Under The Leadership Of Grant.
