In this section, we give an overview of the tremendous global impact of terrorism – an enemy that has no face, no battleground and it can strike anywhere, anytime and anyone. Since the Sept 11 attacks, our lives have never been the same and its impact has reached global proportions. Several more high profile terrorist attacks around the globe in Spain , Bali and London have reinforced this atmosphere of heightened security and the need for us to take this issue seriously.

The team's objectives are expressed here and we have also discussed the definition of “terrorism” which is difficult as there are different interpretations of this term. The popular phrase " One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter " comes to mind when dealing with this issue
