When Fenway Park was built in 1912,
there was no such thing as The Green Monster. The Boston Red Sox play baseball
in Fenway
Park in Massachusetts. Without the Green Monster people kept hitting home
runs onto Landsdown Street. All that changed when the
Red Sox built a 37 foot wall in 1936. In 1947 the Sox painted it green and
the Green Monster was born!
Since the wall was built, no one has never hit a home run over the
Green Monster. The Green Monster is one of the most recognized places in professional
sports.
The Green Monster has become a piece
of baseball history.
