Aborigines are the original people of Australia. Aborigines spend their time
telling myths, making music, singing songs, dancing, and making visual arts.
Their art work included rock painting and bark painting. They also painted designs
on objects, such as shields, paintings, on canvas, and bark. Aboriginal art
work is known world wide.
Aboriginal painting is unique in both subjects matter and style. Styles of art
and the materials used to make it differ from region to region. Each year, at
the end of the dry season, some paintings are restored by retracing outlines
of animals. Today Aborigines would like to win government recognition for their
land titles, achieve social equality, preserve their identity and heritage,
and elect more legislators to the Australia parliament. Aboriginal Wall Art
