Metalworking

Written by Bobby

Some art forms the Chinese were accomplished in were metalworking &
carving. To the Chinese, jade was more prized than gold. Jade was
thought to have magical powers and maybe be linked to an elixir for
life. Another reason jade was valued was because of its toughness. One
more treasured metal was bronze. Bronze was used to make things like
ritual vessels, pots, bells, mirrors, and weapons. Some bronze vessels
were used for food, wine, and water. Most weapons the Chinese used were
made from bronze.
