Everyday

The Chinese invented quite a few of the things we take for granted today. They invented the mechanical clock, which is used in anything from tiny watches to huge towers. The method of deep drilling for natural gas came from them as well. They made the first non-electric computer, a simple abacus. Women and soldiers used the hand fan. They created the water-powered blast furnace. One important thing was an earthquake detector, shaped like a six-foot jar. They invented the compass, which they used for religious reasons. They used it to always make houses face north. They made the first cannon. It was created from by a bamboo tree and gunpowder.
