There are three species of Zebra in Africa. The Plains Zebra, the Grevy's Zebra, and the Mountain Zebra. The Grevy's Zebra is the biggest of all the three species, it has long legs, big ears and it is much heavier. The zebra coat can push away 70 percent of incoming heat. Zebras come together when eating so predators, like lions, would get confused on which zebra to hunt. This happens because the stripes on the zebra camouflage together making it look like one huge zebra and it will scar away predators. Zebras often live in savannas, grasslands or woodlands. Zebra families have very strong bonds. Zebras bond by coming together and nibbling on hair on each others back. They will look out for each other. Zebras care for their young for 2 or 3 days until it learns to recognize the mother by sight, smell and voice. The zebra's only predators are hyenas, hunting dogs, and cheetahs.
