The Lynx (Felis lynx or Lynx lynx) is a fierce, wild cat that lives that lives deep in pine forests and thick scrub of Eurasia and North America. In general, Lynx are nocturnal, which means that they usually sleep during the day, and are active at nighttime, though they are also slightly active at dawn and dusk. Lynx usually live about 12-14 years. These cats are 2-4 feet long, including its tail. The lynx is a fast hunter that eats birds eggs, and small mammals, such as rabbits, rodents, foxes, weasels, and small deer. They are endangered because farmers in Slovenia hunt the lynx because they eat their sheep and other small farm animals. People are also destroying their habitat. The lynx is hunted by man because most poachers think that the lynx is their rival in hunting. Humans also hunt lynx because of their beautiful fur. During the 20th century the lynx completely disappeared from Slovenia. Then hunters brought them back from other countries so that they had more lynx to poach.
