| History of Whaling | Whaling is an activity that involves a lot of skill. To do this you need a group of sailors, a big ship, and a lot of equipment. Whaling used to be done for sports and for supplies. Long ago, there were many whale species and whales. Because of this hunting, whales have become very endangered and some species have become extinct. They hunted both toothed and baleen whales which include the Humpback whale. Even though whales aren't hunted as much anymore, they were hunted long ago and back then, were considered a part of everyday life. Thanks to modern technology, endangered whale species and whales have started to increase. |
