Tsunamis are very bad disasters. They are very dangerous. A tsunami can wipe out a very large area. They are predictable but they are impossible to stop. A tsunami happens when an underwater earthquake pushes the water into a tidal wave crashing down on a city.
The recent tsunami in 2004 was very bad. A lot of people were injured or killed and many were left homeless. It occured in Sri Lanka. It was very sad and everyone is trying to help the tsunami victims recover from this deadly disaster. They are also trying to rebuild the country of Sri Lanka. Many people donated money to the victims.
Tsunamis are most common on the shore of the Pacific Ocean. These deadly disasters can destroy coastlines, mostly with little warning. Tsunamis are very powerful waves. They are not like the waves we see at the beach. A tsunami can kill a uncountable number of people. Tsunamis do not occur often, but when they do, they are one of the most deadly disasters on earth.
