-                                   About Judy Blume

Miss Judy Sussman was born on February 12, 1938 in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Growing up, Judy had the same problems that every other kid does. She started to feel "distant" with her family and started keeping certain things to herself. She even went through those ever popular problems that all girls go through. Even so, she still had her close  friends such as Mary Sullivian who, like other friends, helped her through tough times. When she got older, she went to Boston University because a friend told her that that was where the boys were. However she started to feel a little "under the weather." As it was, Judy had mononucleosis, otherwise known as the "kissing disease." It was called that because the disease was transferred by mouth. Judy Blume married 3 times! First she was married to John Blume while she was in college. Randy Lee and Lawrence Andrew were then born, but after that Judy and John became divorced. She married Thomas A. Kitchens in 1976. George Cooper is her most recent husband and Judy also has a stepdaughter Amanda. Judy Blume is a GREAT author, and I suggest you read some of her books. Happy reading!
