Food develops when there is an IGE antibody to specific food. An allergic
reaction to food occurs within minutes of eating the food and symptoms can be
severe. Shellfish, peanuts, and tree nuts are the most common food allergies in
adults. Milk, eggs, soy, wheat, shellfish, peanuts, and tree nuts are the most
common food allergies in children. Food allergy symptoms can occur all through the body
ranging from a little bellyache to sudden death. Skin reactions are most common
allergic reactions to drugs. Allergic reactions to drugs can also affect
the lungs and the liver. Fever can be a symptom of drug allergy. The most common
skin symptoms are hives, patches of reddening, itching, and swelling. Millions of people have food allergies. Lots of people have
stopped eating their favorite foods because they are allergic. If you are at a
restaurant you have to be very careful because if you are very allergic the
chefs may have a tin y bit of the thing you are allergic to on his hands and you
could get a reaction. Symptoms of having a food-related allergic reaction are
breaking out in hives. You usually get the hives around your eyes or lips, on
the back of your neck, and all over your scalp if it is caused by food allergy.
You can also get a severe headache or a really bad stomachache or you can pass
out or even faint. Nut allergy is rare in oriental countries despite huge
consumptions of nuts, so people from those countries, may not realize how big
the problem is. Nut allergy is increasingly recognized problem, particularly for
children. Nut allergy can produce; a tingling feeling in the lips or mouth, an
itchy rattler rash, swelling in the throat, asthma symptoms, vomiting, cramping
tummy pains, diarrhea, faintness or unconscious, death due to breathing, extreme
low blood pressure. Although a few children seemed to grow out of nut
allergy, the general consensus was that it seemed to be a life-long condition.
Allergy runs in families, and nut allergy affects people with allergies in the
family. |
