Our team has five members from the USA plus one team member from Bulgaria.  We worked as a team; collaborating on every detail.  Each of us wrote a little about ourselves for this page.  The best thing of all was that we changed our names.  We were able to pick out any names we wanted, and these are ours:

Caley

    I enjoy soccer, softball, and basketball.  I also enjoy swimming and playing with my friends.  I like reading, sleeping, and working on the computer.  I dislike Brussels sprouts and doing homework.
    When I get older, I would like to be a photographer or a kindergarten teacher.  I am eleven years old and I have an older sister.  I have one dog named Emma, and two cats named Sarah and Bruce.  I am the tallest girl in our sixth grade class and I have more than 12 relatives. 
    I enjoyed our topic because I remember getting stuck with writing rock and mineral reports and not understanding what I read or what mining really is.  Our club is called Club Web and we created this site for the ThinkQuest competition and for our fourth and fifth grade students who won’t have to struggle like we did. 

Jennifer

    Unlike many other kids, I enjoy school and learning.  My two favorite subjects are math and science.  When I grow up, I would like to be a teacher.  I have always enjoyed helping other kids learn. 
    I love to read—especially Nancy Drew mystery stories.  My favorite color is purple and my favorite food is pizza!  I also love to go horseback riding.  I am very afraid of spiders and insects. 
    I am 12 years old and one of three kids.  I have one younger sister and one younger brother.  I have one female chocolate lab puppy named Coco.  I like to play softball, but I can’t stand soccer!  I also enjoy eating, sleeping, spending time with my family, and hanging out with my friends.
    I love our topic and think it was a very good choice.  I think that mining rocks and minerals is a very common topic for reports.  Our site will answer the need for a site geared to school age children who need to understand the information—not just copy meaningless facts. 

Charlie

     I am eleven years old and have two sisters and one brother.  My family has four pets—a dog, a bird, some fish, and a chinchilla.
     I like Lord of the Rings and video games.  I like Halo, Conflict: Desert Storm, Ghost Recon, etc.  War games and movies are my favorites.  My favorite sports are football and baseball but I really dislike golf.  I want to work as a Marine, police officer, or an engineer when I grow up.
     I like our topic a lot because it is very interesting.  I am having a great time working on this and hope you enjoy our site.

Shaun

    Hi, my name is Shaun.  I am a normal child who likes stuff like playing video games, doing sports, and getting good grades.  There is stuff I don’t like, though.  I don’t like to study and not even understand what I am reading.  That’s one reason why doing this website was a good thing.  Now YOU won’t be reading things you don’t understand.  I’ve always wanted to be an artist when I grow up.  People always say that I draw good, so I thought I’d get a head start by drawing for this website.
    I own one dog and one cat and live with my uncle, grandma, mom, dad, and sister. 

Kris

    Hi, my name is Kris. I'm from Bulgaria.  I'm 10 years old.  I live with my mum, my dad, and my baby brother who is 9 months old.  I like school [though not all the time] and my favorite subjects are art, sports, and math.  I participate in math competitions and sometimes I win.  The sports I like are acrobatics and basketball even though I am not so tall.  I don't like soccer very much.  When I grow up I want to draw cartoons or be an actor.
     I am crazy about computer games.  I enjoy reading Harry Potter.  I adore eating chocolate.  On Sunday evening I love having Chinese food.  I like the topic of mining because I'm interested in searching for tiny multicolored pebbles.  I think our website will help curious kids learn more about rocks and to do better reports at school.

Marlin   

    Hello, my name is Marlin.  I like school, sports, and hunting.  When I grow up, I would like to join the Marines.  I like baseball and soccer, but I despise football. 
    My favorite subjects are math and gym.  I also like history.  I like to read historical and fantasy books.
    I'm happy to be a part of the Mining Team because the team is fun.  I also am learning many things and am very interested in mining.  Our topic will help younger kids find information easier because we are making it understandable.  I wish someone had done that for us when we were doing reports!
