    Imagine yourself in a lunchroom with many children around. Savaging over fatty snacks and sugary treats, these children do not know what they're getting into. Because of these high cholesterol snacks, children are finding themselves on the edge of becoming very obese. Do you want to go through this stage of obesity? I think not. As you can see we should put a stop to this obese madness before it is too late.  

Are School Lunches Healthy?  
     From my research I have also discovered that school lunches are full of cholesterol and fat. They are also low in fruits, nutrients, and vegetables. That is not good. At a young age you should be getting healthier foods to help you grow. Kids should eat a lot of fruits and vegetables every day instead of junk food . It gives you the energy, vitamins, and minerals you need for every day work.   (That junk food can't provide) If you don’t get enough vitamins and minerals you can get seriously ill. Avoid getting high levels of fat and cholesterol. Definitely, do not  get low in vitamins or minerals. Stay alert of what you are eating.  
Kids Skip Lunch Lines  
     Find yourself in the lunchroom, watching kids come in and skip the lunch line and go straight for the vending machines, snack lines or ice cream. Even though the school lunches are invaded with fat, snacks and ice cream are worse! If you are still hungry after lunch, pack  a fruit snack or something healthy. Can’t you see that snacks are making children obese?  Fatty school lunches and sugary snacks are not good! People should only have them on occasion. Believe me only about one-third of the things schools serve are from the food pyramid. Realize you can pack a course that is 100% from the food pyramid. Always eat the healthiest things you can!  
Decisions and Avoiding Fatty School lunches
     Kids can make intelligent decisions about what they are eating in the lunchroom by doing multiple things. For example, you could pack your own lunch with healthier items. In addition your parents would also be saving money. You also can choose one of the few healthier things on the lunch menu, such as a salad…. and I think that's about it. Finally, you could refuse to buy the lunches and force the school to prepare healthier choices. These are some ways kids avoid eating the unhealthy lunches.  
Why are so Many Children Obese?
     More than 60 percent of children today are overweight and 30% of these children are obese. The number one cause of obese children is school lunches. The school lunches are too high in fat. So are the snacks schools serve at lunch!
What Do Most Schools Serve to Eat..?
     Most school lunches provide pizza, French fries, soda, ice cream, and chips. Some of the chips they offer are Doritos and Lays Chips. Did you know that Doritos have 140 calories and Lays chips have 150 calories in one of the small bags?  Don’t you think that’s way too much calories for one mini chip bag?
What Is The National School Lunch Program?
     This program operates in almost 100,000 private schools. It provides nutrition lunches at low cost or free. The school lunch recommendations are…
no more than 30% fat intakes 
less than 10% saturated fat 

The schools that participate in this program have to meet these recommendations, but have decisions on what specific foods they offer.
