Arachnophobia

Arachnophobia (fear of spiders) is a very common fear.  Many people with this fear are deathly afraid of the eight legged creature that makes its home in the corners of our houses.  Though most people seem to be afraid of a spider’s bite, it is unlikely that one will bite you unless you bother it.  A Daddy-Long Legs, for instance, can’t open its mouth large enough to bite a person. Other people are afraid of spiders because they see them as big, hairy, gross creatures.

There really isn’t a way to cure Arachnophobia though I suggest that you do not kill spiders and try to follow these tips:

Watch the spiders and try not to freak out

Catch grasshoppers and throw them into the webs of big spiders and watch them wrap it up

If you have a spider by your bed, name it and talk to it about your day

If you find a Daddy-Long Legs let it walk on your hand and arm (it tickles)
