How Fast Does the Bird Flu Virus Spread - As reported in Newsweek, a man named Bang-Orn Benpad stole some of his neighbor’s chickens. The chickens had the flu and were close to death anyway, but the man didn’t realize this.  He ate them.  A couple days later he got a cough and fever.  He went to a local clinic where they took an x-ray of his lungs. Doctors suggested he go to a hospital, but he went home instead. Symptoms got worse the next week, and by Wednesday he died.  That means that the virus can kill you in a matter of days.
