Our Site

Hi!  I'm Adam.  My role on the team was researcher.  I'm a 5th grader in South Dakota.   I had to do some research on how to prevent getting the bird flu.  I found that it is not possible to prevent it at this time.  I also helped do some hyper-linking and editing of the pages.  We had to read a lot of information to complete this web site.  I highlighted the important information first, then put it in my own words.  My hobbies are playing football, video games, and playing "Ghosts in the Graveyard" in the summer.

Hi!  I'm Robert.  My role on the team was gopher.  I'm a 5th grader in South Dakota.   I also had to do some research on how the flu effects humans.  I did the research about how South Dakota will handle a pandemic.

This is the second website I have worked on.  Before this project I used the computer for games.  In computer class I learned how to keyboard (type).  I  now have high-speed internet access at home.  My hobbies are playing basketball, football, golf and street hockey.

Hi.  I'm Lydia.  My role on the team was the graphic designer.  I chose the colors, typed information, located photos and took some pictures.  I made the buttons for our site.  I am a 4th grader in South Dakota.

My research job was to find out who discovered the avian flu and where it first occurred.  Before doing this project, I had made one page in FrontPage for a gifted ed project on mythology.  I have high-speed internet at home, so I could do some research there.  My hobbies are soccer, swimming and playing the cello.

Hello! My name is Zachary.  My roles on the team were the co-game designer (which just helps the real game designer0 and Editor.  I also found information in Newsweek magazine about the history of the bird flu.   I am a fifth grader in SD and this is the first time I have made a web site.

Before this I used the computer a lot for research and games.  I never thought I would make a web site.  My hobbies include basketball, video games, baseball, and running.

Hi.  I'm Alex.  My part in ThinkQuest was webmaster.  I’m in 4th grade in South Dakota. My subject to research is the spreading of H5N1 (bird flu or avian flu).  I was responsible for the timeline on our site.  I have high speed internet at home, and I worked on creating the time line on my home computer.  I am currently working on my own website at FreeWeb.  My hobbies are golf, basketball, soccer, football and playing Runescape (you can get to it on Miniclip on the internet).

Mrs. Waterbury has been coaching ThinkQuest teams for the past eight years.  She is the gifted ed teacher/coordinator for our district.

Her role on the team was to advise, help select a topic, share her knowledge of software/hardware, and teach us about graphic design.  She also helped us learn how to cite our sources, locate reliable information and get permission to use photos/information.
