9. Research to gut cancer

There are many researchers working on investigations to gut cancer. They investigate how the operations and chemotherapies can get better, and how the cancer actually originates. The researchers are working on a new way which removes the gut cancer, without harming the healthy cells. Besides that they are looking for special proteins, enzymes, or inherited defects which can be seen earlier, so that the doctor knows that cancer is present in the body.

Vaccinations:
There are still investigations going on to make vaccinations against gut cancer. During this treatment, pieces of the tumor are vaccinated in your body so that your immune system makes anti-bodies. The investigations to vaccinations have just started, so it will take some years before these can be used with patients.
