Majke Majke lives in Dronten during the weekends. She is 17 years old. She loves to skate as long as she doesn't fall. It is her 7th time that she skates. She also does gymnastics and swimming once every 3 weeks. In the beginning skating was very difficult but not anymore.  Majke became completely blind when she was 5 years old. She had a brain tumour which affected her eye nerves and nerves of the nose. So she can not smell anything anymore. She has been operated and the tumour was removed when she was 5. She completely recovered but stayed blind.  But, as she says for herself, she still can think and talk really good!. And although she does not see anything she loves to skate and hopes that she can do it more often. |
