CopyrightWe have sent a lot of emails to the sites from which we have used pictures or flash files. This is the email that we have sent: Dear Sir, Madam We are 4 students from the Netherlands. We are 16, 16, 19 and 19 years old. We are creating a non profit, educational website for the ThinkQuest competition. We are making a website about our 5 (or 6) senses. Our final website will be published in the ThinkQuest Library, a free educational resource located at http://www.thinkquest.org . We will honour your copyright by giving your organization full credit and citing you as one of our sources. Please respond to this message and let us know if we may use this image in our project. Our deadline for publication is May 10th 2006, and we would appreciate your quick response. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Sonny, Lotje, Laurette and Femke from the Netherlands Most of the people reacted with a possitive email. You can read their reactions below. Some people did not gave permission (mostly because of privacy reasons). Some emails that we had found on a site that we wanted to contact did not exist anymore (we got an error answer back). I do not do this, but it seems to be for a good cause. Groetjes, Bas de B. translation: Dear Sonny, Lotje, Laurette and Femke, Good for you that you join ThinkQuest. I know this competition and I know that the websites are alway of a high level. I hope that you will folow these high standards too and will stay in the race for first price. Of course we are willing to help you. But with photo's we are always wery careful. That is because we our self are bounded by rules and regulations. In your case the answer is simple. A link to our page is okay, but you can not use the photo's. So if you leave the pictures on our site and make a link to the page than it is okay. I hope this is usefull for you. Again much succes and when you have finished your site I would be happy to hear about it. greetings Bas de B.
