Israeli dancing

The Jews were dancing to worship God. When they dance it is usually outside. Men and women danced separately because of their religion. In Orthodox Judaism men and woman remain separate. The women would make a circle and they men would make another. At a wedding, they would dance a lot there for their custom. For an example, they would dance the Hora. Then in the process of dancing they would lift the bride and groom up in a chair. What they do is a mitzvah (a good deed) to make them happy as long as they live.  To them the music and rhythm is more important than any of the dance steps. The Hora is another word for Bulgar. At a wedding dance they would dance Freylekhs. Sher is a dance they dance that is much like square dancing. The dances give Jews a chance to show their history in the Torah. Like on Shavu’oth the day of thanks giving they dance to the lyrics of song pioneers sang before Israel was found
