There are two typical types of Irish dance dresses.  Team dresses and Solo dresses. The colors of Irish dance dresses are mostly colors from nature.  Sometimes the colors are from Ireland such as orange, green, and white.  The designs are from nature and shapes put together and can include curves.  Some of the nature designs are moons, stars, trees, flowers, and animals.  The designs could have symbols such as crosses for church.  The background could shine like all of the colors of the rainbow.  Each dress has something to do with nature.

Solo Dresses-       Solo dresses have a lot of designs.  They are worth a lot of money, but very beautiful dresses!  Their designs are very difficult.  They take a very long time to make.  The dress is also very puffy.  The skirt is supposed to be two inches above the knee.  Solo competition dresses are very expensive and take several months to complete.  They can cost around $1000. Many colors, fabrics, and designs are used to create them.  Each solo dress should be unique and one of a kind.
Team Dresses-    Team dresses are always the same.  Team dresses don’t have that many designs.  The dress only has a couple of colors and the designs aren’t that hard to make.  Most team dresses are medium priced.  The dresses are puffy.  The dresses have fewer designs in the back than the front.  Each dress should be two inches above the knee.  Team dresses are very rare.
Team Dresses are used when Irish dancers perform together as a group.  All of the dresses are the same or similar and have the same designs on them.  Team dress designs are more simple than solo dresses.
