Europe

Italy makes a lot of its money from tourism.  It has had a little bit of government trouble in the past during World War II with Mussolini.  Now Italy is at peace.  They are happy with their government.

In England, they don’t really vote except for a prime minister.  Queen Elizabeth and her heir, Prince Charles don’t do as much as the prime minister, Anthony Blair.

In Greece, they have had very hard times because there was a military dictatorship which made their king flee the country.  Now they have a republic.

If I could live in any country, it would be Switzerland because it is neutral and has very good schools.  However, there are few natural resources there.

In Sweden, they still have a monarchy.  There is King Carl XVI Gustaf and his heir Princess Victoria Ingrid Alice Desiree.  Their king isn't bad so the people of Sweden are happy.

Lithuania is small and little known about.  They aren't poor and they mostly have good schools.  They are allowed to vote there because they have a republic.

Austria lost control of Hungary in the late 1800s. They have a republic.  Their president’s name is President Heinz Fischer.

Poland was taken over by the Nazis during World War II.  Now they have a republic and a pretty good president, Aleksander Kwasniewski.

Czech Republic used to be Czechoslovakia. Now it is a republic.  That’s one of the reasons that they changed the name to Czech Republic.
