(When we began this ThinkQuest projact, these were the questions we had, and the answers we found during our research.)

Q. How do you get your clothes on the runway?
A. Usually you can get your clothes on the runway if you show them to a company and if they like them they’ll maybe put them on the runway in a fashion show.

Q. What steps do you take before becoming a designer?
A. Two of the first steps in becoming a designer are going to a fashion school and being able to listen to directions and sew patterns exactly the way they want you to.

Q. How difficult is it to make it a fashion designer?
A. It can be very difficult because you must go through years of school and you must have talent. If you are successful you could earn a lot of money.

Q. What did some fashion designers do before becoming designers?
A. For example, Coco Chanel is one of many designers who is famous. She started out in a little shop in France.  A lot of designers start small and end up big.

Q. Is it difficult to draw some of the designs?
A. Yes. Sometimes it can be very difficult but it depends on how hard the pattern is.

Q. Why did you choose to be a fashion designer?
A. Many people choose to become fashion designers because they enjoy making clothes and when they were kids they dreamed of becoming fashion designers.

Q. Do you need a high school degree to get into a fashion school?   
A. Yes, you need to have a high school degree because they want highly educated students.

Q. Could you do another job with a fashion degree?
A. Yes you can do another job with a fashion degree if you don’t like the job.

Q. Can you get a degree online?
A.Yes, you can get a degree online if you can’t attend the classes.

Q. How long is the program?
A. The programs are from 2-4 years but each school is different.
