Anne Frank
Anne frank was born in Frankfurt and moved in 1933 to the Nether lands.
Her family hid behind her father's business in a secret annex, in
Amsterdam. They were betrayed and arrested two years later. They died in
a Nazi death camp in Belson.
Time Line of Anne Franks Life June 12, 1929: Anneliese (Anne for short) Marie Frank was born. Summer 1933: The Franks move to the Netherlands. May 10, 1940:The Nazis invaded the Netherlands. June 12, 1942:Anne gets a diary, from her parents, for her birthday. July 6,1942:The frank family hid in an annex. July 13,1942:A Jewish family joins the Franks in hiding. August 4,1944:Franks are betrayed and arrested. January 6,1945:Anne's mom (Edith Frank) died at Auschwitz- Birkeuau. March 1945:Anne and Margot died in a concentration camp in Bergen-Belson. Here are two of her diary excerpts "Our many Jewish friends and acquaintances are being taken away in droves. The Gestapo is treating them very roughly and transporting them in cattle cars to Westerbork, the big camp in Drenthe to which they're sending all the Jews....If it's that bad in Holland, what must it be like in those faraway and uncivilized places where the Germans are sending them? We assume that most of them are being murdered. The English radio says they're being gassed." - October 9, 1942 "It’s a
wonder I haven’t abandoned all my ideals, they seem so absurd and
impractical. Yet I cling to them because I still believe, in spite of
everything, that people are truly good at heart.
