A Cataclysm: earthquakes, tidal waves and earth eruptions.
The Earth has been witness of the cataclysms in its past and its periodic success.
The present Earth relief, including the oceanic bottom, was the effect of a permanent fight that has been taking place at least for three billion years. The actual shape of the earth has been formed mainly in the last two million years, although the forms are not absolutely different from the previous ones. There are young and old territories in the terrestrial surface.
Some didn't exist more than two million years ago, like most of Central America , the peninsula of Baja California and almost the totality of the arcs insulares. The internal Earth movements are pronounced mainly by the seismic and volcanic activity.
The first phenomenon, the earthquakes, the movements of ascent and reduction of the terrestrial surface are related, those that give origin to mountains and to the continental and oceanic depressions, in addition to the horizontals, mainly those of great magnitudes like the movements of the plates of the lithospere.
On the other hand, the volcanism is perhaps the oldest creative process of the relief. The volcanism has always existed, but with time it let appear in global form (that is in the entire planet) to concentrate itself in zones specify as now we know it.
The tidal waves are the direct consequence of any earthwork at heart of the sea that makes raise waves of high altitude to soon push them towards outside, against mainland.
Taking into account the previous thing we can define that the cataclysm of which speaks Plato who happened in the destruction of the Atlantida, it is resembled all these phenomena and it is feasible that are the main reason of their disappearance. Towards years 700 B.C. a great cataclysm appeared.
