Importance of Activities

Research indicates that a child at the age of 15 has spent more time watching T.V then sitting a classroom.  An after school activity will avoid that from happening.   Also 4/5 parents of middle school and high school children say their child does not hang out at the mall because that is a potential place where bad things happen.

Your child can do better academically. Kids from all ages would put positive things about after school activities, like that it relaxes parents, keeps them occupied, and it’s fun. Kids who don’t take it probably get bad grades. It’s a good thing to take after school activities though, because it can teach you things you never knew.

Other than giving you child the skill of doing better academically an after school activity can give your child exercise. Your child will learn games and/or skills that they will want to do at home so they won't watch T.V. all day.

An after school activity will also help you child do better socially. They will make new friends and have a better relationship with adults. If children have a strong relationship with adults they work together with families, schools, and communities will come closer together. Then, communities will help one another when they have problems.

If your child does not do an activity they are more likely to do drugs or skip school. They are also likely to get depressed and have low self esteem. If they do an after school activity they will feel good about them self because they will set goals and make accomplishments.
