Many celebrities around the world are doing all they can to relieve poverty. From U2's Bono to Microsoft's Bill Gates and former President Jimmy Carter, many celebrities are setting a very effective example. Due to their wide range of influence, and the number of people who look up to them, their work is helping to alleviate poverty. Not only do they help to spread the word, but celebrities usually have large sums of money which they are willing to donate to charities.
