Rodney Mullen
Rodney
Mullen is one of the most influential skaters of all time he started to
skate when he was just eight years old. When he was 11, he got the first
board that he could call his own. He always wore pads. One of
the main reasons that he wore pads was that he knew if he got hurt, he
would be forced to quit skateboarding. One of his first sponsors was a
local surf shop owner named Bill Murray He quickly built skill and won
competitions. He went pro at the age of 13 and was one of the youngest
ever to become a professional.
That year, he also joined the legendary Bones Brigade, one of the most
sought after skating groups. When he joined the Bones Brigade, the
leader Stacy Peralta became his new sponsor and coach now although he
has aged and become one of the oldest skaters he is still skating and
raking in endorsements. His perseverance and hard work is how he got
where he is today.
