What Have They Done?

It is advertising in conventional markets as well as new markets to boost tourism in these areas which have good potential. In addition, it has increased the number of flights as well as making application for visas easier to cater to this increasing need.

Besides that, it also participates in many tourism fairs throughout the year and is coming up with new tourist attractions as well as preserving old tourist attractions.

The Singapore Tourism Board is trying to make Singapore hubs for many forms of travel like cruises and aircrafts. It has proposed and carried out the upgrading of the Singapore Cruise Centre and renamed it as Harbour Front Centre and is expanding Changi Airport with a Terminal 3.

It is also improving the artistic value of Singapore. With the completion of an exquisite theater, called the Esplanade, tourists are able to view many unique plays and musicals. In a bid to make Singapore an ideal location for conventions and fairs, they have started off by providing more facilities. The number of hotels and rooms are made adequate to cater to needs of the businessmen.

Singapore is strategically located and intersects in air and sea routes making it an ideal location for a port. It has promoted many cultural festivals like the Chingay Procession and the Singapore River Hong Bao. It is also promoting health tourism which is tourists coming to Singapore for health services.
