San Andreas Fault
The
San Andreas Fault is one of the most
famous strike-slip faults in the world.
It is located in San
Andreas, California. It consists of hundreds of miles of displaced
rock. The rock is of all different ages,
and is placed side by side. The San Andreas Fault is a fault zone rather than a
single fault. This means that movement
can occur at any point along the fault. The San Andreas
Fault is an excellent example of a strike-slip fault.
