After her husband died in 1945, she seemed to retire to a cottage manor in Hyde Park. Only a year after Franklin's death, she became an American spokeswoman in the United Nations. She worked energetically until 1962, when her strength began to go downhill. In November 1962, Eleanor Roosevelt died and was buried alongside her husband at their home in Hyde Park. |
