Katie Couric - Famous News Reporter

Katie Couric the beloved media personality has earned many awards for both her work with colon cancer and her personality.
Some of the awards for her work with colon cancer are: George Foster Peabody Award in May of 2000 and the Julius B. Richmond Award in 2003. George Foster Peabody Award was given to Couric because of her series “Confronting Colon Cancer.” This award is given by University of Georgia's Henry W. Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communications for excellence in radio and television programs. The Julius B. Richmond Award is the highest award given by Harvard’s School of Public Health to people who have promoted and been successful in promoting public health issues to the “vulnerable public.”
Other awards have been won by Couric both for her beauty and her performance on the news. The awards she has won are six Emmy awards, a national headliner award, the Society of Professional Journalists’ Sigma Delta Chi Award, an Associated Press Award, a Matrix Award, a Gracie Allen Award, and was named “Wow Women of the Year” by Glamour magazine. Katie Couric has won many more awards but she has been recognized by all for hard work in finding a cure for colon cancer.
