Elizabeth Blackwell, the first female doctor, has had many awards named in her honor including the Elizabeth Blackwell Medal, the Elizabeth Blackwell Award, and the Elizabeth Blackwell Academic Achievement Award.
Elizabeth Blackwell Award Medal
The Elizabeth Blackwell Medal was created as a tribute to the first woman awarded a medical degree from an American Medical School. This medal is awarded to a woman who has made an exceptional contribution to the study of medicine for women.
Hobart and William Smith College
The Elizabeth Blackwell Award is given by Hobart and William Smith Colleges to a woman who devotes her life for the betterment of humanity. This award is not given on a regular basis; only when an extraordinary example is presented.
Elizabeth Blackwell Portrait
The Elizabeth Blackwell Academic Achievement Award is given to the single senior athlete with the highest GPA.
All these awards are named and given in the honor of Elizabeth Blackwell, a hard-working successful woman doctor.
