Many of these factors can not be controlled by the obese teen, but obesity can be prevented. A good diet and daily exercise are essential to a healthy lifestyle. Also, teens should be aware of the symptoms, causes, and effects of obesity.

It is best to develop a healthy lifestyle at a young age because then it is easiest to carry this all throughout your life. Some symptoms of obesity can include excess fat, an increase in body size, shortness of breath, increased blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, and back pain. The effects of obesity can be permanent and devastating to one’s life. Obesity can pose many health problems including heart disease, stroke, cancer, respiratory problems, and others.
