Our team, Teen Health, consists of two eighth-grade captains who had previous experience in WebTech and two seventh graders who are new to WebTech. Because of the new members’ inexperience to web design and because of the girl to boy ratio (3:1), our team was forced to make many compromises. The eighth-grade girls were forced to find a color scheme that appealed to Daniel, the one boy on our team. We also faced many technological problems. However, a couple of students put in extra hours and used their technological skills to fix the problems.
Anna, one of the team captains, researched and completed the “Skin Care” pages. With her technological and writing skills, Anna was able to write and put together her pages quickly so that she could help others with their technical difficulties. Hannah, the other team captain, researched the substance abuse pages and completed the “About Us” page. Her great researching abilities enabled her to teach the two new members how to research. Meghan researched “Fitness and Exercise” and “Mental Health.” She contributed excellent writing skills to the web site. Daniel, the only boy on our team, researched “Diet and Nutrition” and helped Meghan with some of her “Mental Health” pages. He has very good grammar skills and helped the team in this area. Our team members' strong qualities complimented each other in working together to get this web site finished. For example, when Anna was sick, Hannah kept us together and informed Anna about what she missed.
