Skull and Bones members
The Skull and Bones fraternity was founded in New Haven, Connecticut, in 1832. The brotherhood is a secret fraternity at Yale University and has been known to have powerful members. President George W. Bush and Senator John Kerry, the 2004 Democratic candidate for U.S. president, were in this secret fraternity. Because they did not get accepted into another fraternity, Phi Beta Kappa, William Huntington Russell and Alphonso Taft founded the Skull and Bones fraternity in 1833. The brotherhood is often referred to by its members as “The Order of Death,” “The Order,” “The Eulogian Club,” and “Lodge 322.” Nominees for the fraternity are called “boodle boys.” Skull and Bones only allows seniors to become members, and the current roster of seniors is kept secret. Skull and Bones (or its corporate name, the Russell Taft Association) tries to keep many things secret to the public. The fraternity has been rumored to have committed numerous crimes. The brotherhood holds assets worth over four million dollars (such as its own private island) and describes itself as an “outward viewing society.”
