The Rosicrucian Order was started in 1407 by a German named Christian Rosenkreuz. This group is also called the Rose Croix. The members of the Rosicrucian Order are called Rosicrucians. Travelling as a pilgrim, Christian Rosenkreuz studied hidden knowledge under many different sages in the Middle East. Hidden knowledge included physics, mathematics, and alchemy (witchcraft). Hidden knowledge can also be referred to as divine wisdom. Rosenkreuz lived to be either 105 or 106 years of age. (1378-1474)
The cause of Christian Rosenkreuz’s death is unknown. His body was found by a Rosicrucian member. Although Rosenkreuz’s body was discovered 120 years after his death, it was in perfect condition. It is believed that the Rosicrucian Order has existed from 46 A.D. According to this legend, Rosicrucianism began by combining early Christianity with Egyptian mysteries. If this is true, Rosenkreuz would have been a Grand Master of the Rosicrucian Order rather than the founder.
